18th
Reinforcements
New
Zealand
Engineers
during
World
War
I.
Hughes
saw
action
on
the
Western
Front
in
Messines
and
Etaples.
He
was
hospitalised
in
January
1918
and
was
discharged
in
September
1918.
He
married
Olive
Frances
Price
in
June
1924
and
settled
as
a
farmer
in
the
Oākura
area.
