Kahu Kiwi

Description
Muka kaupapa (foundation) worked in horizontal rows of whatu (two pair twining). Six whetu (warp) to 1cm. Ara (rows) spaced at 8mm intervals. Kiwi feathers arranged in clumps of three and spaced every five whenu. The kaupapa has a complete coverage of kiwi with slight trim of white feathers (possible down from kiwi). Coloured wool at neck edge. The cloak ties with four muka cords at neck edge. The kaupapa is worked in muka which over the years has weakened to the point where it is now extremely fragile.
