Description
A .303 calibre Short Magazine Lee-Enfield ( SMLE ) Mark I rifle that has been sportized for hunting. It is very roughly finished with a ragged grey shoulder strap still attached. It has a brass butt cap and an undecorated wooden stock. There are two sights, one on the left hand side of the chamber and the second along the centre of the barrel. The receiver is marked with " V R " under a crown. " ENFIELD 1898 / LE / 1 " is also marked on it. There is a New Zealand service mark on the receiver an a sold from service mark on the receiver and the butt plate along with other markings.
