Tuki / Patu Muka
Description
Stone flax pounder with a stylized human head on the end of the handle. Head is realistic (almost Europeanised) with prominent eyes, nose and mouth which is off-centre. Top of head is flat. At the back of the head is an upside down "V". An "air-bubble" pocket is present about halfway along patu muka on one side.
