Description
A presentation Beaumont-Adams patent five shot double action .44 calibre percussion revolver with a Kerr's patent bullet rammer and an octagonal barrel. The cylinder stop safety catch and wooden grip are missing. " PRESENTED BY / THE NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT / TO JAMES BALL / For Gallant Conduct in the Field at Taranaki / A.D 1860 " is marked on the top strap. "B20,425 / ADAMS' PATENT No. 36174 R " is marked on the frame and " 36174 " is marked on the cylinder. " L.A.C " is marked on the barrel along with other proof marks.
