Description
A Colt New Service .455 calibre six chambered revolver. " AC " is scratched on the base of the butt (with small chip). The barrel is marked " New Service 455 Eley ". It has a chequered composite grip with "Colt" cast into it and a Colt trademark repeats on the revolver. It also features sold from service marks and the rampant colt trademark.

This is a weapon supplied as part of a British 1914 contract. Would have originally been used during World War I and was probably issued to a New Zealander during 1916-1918. It was the kind of weapon that is likely to have been issued to an officer in a home defence battalion during World War II.
