Description
A modified and nickel plated Webley .450 calibre Royal Irish Constabulary six shot centrefire revolver. It features mechanical case ejector which operates with the loading gate open, and a safety catch in the hammer. The firing pin and thumb lever on the hammer are missing. " 34458 " is the serial number. It is complete with a holster.

This weapon has been modified for improved accuracy and safety. S W Silver and Co. were a big outfitter and retailer with an " Explorer " room to fit people out for their travels. This is possibly a South African War related item and may have been the sort of thing purchased by a wealthy officer.
