Description
A bodice from a wedding outfit made of olive-coloured and black silk taffeta. The garment is boned and fastens down the front with fabric buttons. There is black piping around the arms and collar and a curved front with a small band collar. A black panel extends from around the back of the neck to the front bust and ends with a ribbon on the left-hand side. The cuffs have a band of kilting and a ribbon on top. The hem is cut up along the sides of the hips and tapers back down to a row of pleats at the back rear.

Worn by Mary Hilda Johnson when she married Cecil Harry Peckham at Mattersey Church, near Retford, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. It was also worn by their grandaughter Nicola Jane Peckham (now Richardson), to the Auroa School fancy dress dance in 1960.
