Description
Black muka whenu radiate from centre. Aho of natural muka have been worked in whatu (two pair twining) four whenu to 1cm. Ara are spaced at 5mm intervals. Clumps of four kiwi feathers have been worked in on every 5th whenu. Cap is trimmed with thread of yellow muka. A motif worked in kaka, (orange from under the wing) tui (white toggles and black with white vein from the neck and throat) is positioned near rim. Cap is edged in blocks of kakariki, (vivid green) long tailed cuckoo (speckled feathers from the breast) and tui.
