Pear shaped bellows. Consists of two wooden frames with nailed leather surrounds, leather stretched between frames, and long narrow metal nose. c.1850-1870.

Keeping the fire going was a priority and the day could not start without it. During the night the embers were covered by a metal dome with a gap in the side to let in a slight draft. In the morning, the embers were blown into flames with bellows.
