Mt Taranaki/Egmont and clearing in trees with people, horses and trees in foreground. Painted at the site of present North Egmont Visitors Centre. This painting documents Sir William Fox's ascent of Mount Taranaki on 26 February 1890. Other members of the climbing party included Arthur Standish, Edith Halcombe, Miss Standish, Miss Sadler, Mr Turnball and guide Harry Peters.
