Description
A German life jacket made of a hard wearing canvas-type fabric. The jacket has a small gas cylinder for inflation on the right facing side near the bottom and a black rubber tube for manual inflation higher up. It can be fastened by a series of straps. A manufacturer's tag written in German features prominently near the top of the neck portion. " F/o H.W. McLeod 603 " and "C.H. Lattimer" is handwritten on the reverse.

This life jacket was obtained by Flight Officer H. W Mcleod from a German pilot who was shot down over Malta in 1942 or 1943. Malta was one of the most intensively bombed areas during World War II.
