An unframed botanical oil painting on canvas. It depicts a plant with a thick dark stem that stretches vertically across the canvas. It has thin brown branches with small green leaves and yellow flowers. The background is softly coloured with pale blues, dusky purples and creams.
This plant species has been identified by Fanny as "Kowhai", which is also known as Sophora tetraptera.
