Taiaha

Description
This taiaha has a fully carved parewahawaha (head section) with the upoko (head), waha (mouth), arero (tongue) and rae (brow) carved in a conventional style. The arero (tongue) has double spirals with double haehae (parallel grooves) and pakati (dog tooth pattern) notches. The shaft is highly polished with all paua shell eyes present.
