Description
Portrait of a Māori woman with moko kauae. The woman (Ngapei Ngātata) has a huia feather in her hair, mako tooth earrings in her ears, and a hei tiki with red wax eyes around her neck. She is dressed in a kahu huruhuru (feather cloak) and is holding a mere pounamu in her right hand. Pictured looking to the right (her left).
