View of Mount Taranaki with pasture and buildings in the foreground and middleground. Annotation beneath title reads: "Mt Egmont beautiful at all times when visible occasionally offers ocular demonstration as to the part played by mountains in the formation of clouds. Vapour streams may frequently be seen on the summit apparently at rest, but this in reality is not the case, the unseen vapour of the blue atmosphere being constantly rendered with the current caused by the wind is again redissolved.
