"Kiekie"
Description
A botanical oil painting on canvas. The plant has many long green leaves sprouting in different directions. At the centre of the plant is a large white flower with three dark-brown stalks enclosed within the petals.
Fanny has identified this plant as "Kiekie". A further identification has been made with "Tawhara" also recorded, which refers to the edible flower bracts of the kiekie. An identification of the plant as Freycinetia Banksii, of a female flower, has also been made.
