Taranaki.
The
find
was
reported
in
the
Opunake
Times
(10th
October
1941,
page
5).
The
article
also
mentions
the
find
of
the
giant
fossilised
shark’s
tooth
(likely
Carcharodon
megalodon),
in
the
same
district,
thirty
years
earlier.
