Description
Ngatu, barkcloth. Large plain cloth decorated using rubbing and overpainting; there are five longitudinal sections marked in dark brown pigment. Centre of cloth is decorated with large rectangle designs filled with triangles arranged in the manulua (vane swastika) pattern. There are five other triangular motifs either side. A band of manulua patterning borders the decorated area of the cloth on two sides, leaving a plain edge. Numerals '2' and '4' on one edge.
