Tree Felling at Opua Road, Ōpunakē

Description
Two men standing on thin wooden planks known as jigger boards inserted into a large tree trunks above the ground, with a third sitting, while they pose with axes mid tree-felling. The base of the tree is littered with chips of wood that have been removed from a large wedge in the trunk, which has epiphytes and ferns growing on it above the cut. Bush and other smaller trees, inclyding a tree fern on the left, surround the tree. The men are all wearing light-toned short-sleeved shirts and canvas or demin pants, and boots. The man on the left is also wearing a cap.
