Jigger Chopping
Description
Two men standing on thin wooden planks known as jigger boards inserted into tree trunks above the ground while they pose with axes mid tree-felling. The men are both wearing short-sleeved shirts, canvas or demin trousers, boots and caps. The tree they are cutting has notches in it where they have starting cutting. There are other tall trees in the background. The man on the left has been identified as Joseph Dowman.
