Ribbed Mussel

Description
Aulacomya maoriana. Single valve. Triangular elongated shell with rounded edges. Longitudinal ribbing. Black to bluish purple, has eroded to a whitish purple on tip and down one side. Hair on top of mussel near tip and down one side.
