Ngahiwi Jerseys

Description
A collection of material relating to Ngahiwi Jersey Stud.
Ngahiwi, located at Pukearuhe, was farmed by three generations of family over 63 years. The farm was established in 1916 by W. J. Freeth. After Freeth's death in 1946 Ngahiwi was dispersed. Ngahiwi was then taken over by Freeth's daughter Keitha, and her husband Bruce Price, who wound up the business in 1979.
The stud achieved many distinctions in the dairy world. It was the top herd in Taranaki in 1967. Jersey cattle breeders from many parts of the world visited the stud.
