Description
Set of coloured tags in holder for ordering milk for home delivery. Set includes a white, plastic holder with holes to screw it to a post or fence and space for two pockets. The set includes three tags, a red tag for cream, a blue tag for standard homogenised milk and a silver tag for whole milk. Other available options of products associated with different coloured tags are listed on the tags.

These tags are designed to hang on the gate and signal what type of milk you wanted delivered that day. Different colours signalled different products like silver for whole cream milk or red for a bottle of cream. You could even ask for flavoured milk (pink for strawberry and tan for chocolate) or a yellow tag would get you fruit juice. Although most companies learnt your regular order off by heart and so many families did not bother to put the tags out, if you changed your order up they were a quick way to say what you wanted. With only a few loyal customers, milk trucks finally stopped delivering door-to-door in New Plymouth in 2018.
