Description
This trophy consists of an ornately carved wooden plaque, it is rounded at the sides, and covered with scroll work, leaves and acorns. There is a short extension at the bottom, a round extension at the top capped by a shamrock like a bow. A ring on each side (one broken) and the roman numerals "XXV" and the word "annos" are carved in wood on the face of the extension surrounded by a laurel wreath. An oval silver plate in the centre of the plaque states "This sheild was presented by ex-pupils and teachers of this school to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the appointment of H. Dempsey as Headmaster, Central School, New Plymouth, 1910." The name "R.G. Moverley is carved into the wood at the back of the plaque.
