Description
Wooden shoe gauge for measuring feet. The gauge unfolds and then has a wooden prong at either end of the ruler. The prong at the end of the ruler sits on a metal plate, allowing it to slide up and down to measure the length of a foot. Shoes sizes marked on the inside of the gauge. Ruler in inches marked along the back of the gauge.

This shoe gauge was used by Marge Bithell when she worked at Hannah's shoe shop in 1928. Marge was an assistant shop sales person and she used the gauge to measure people's feet to determine their shoe size.
