Description
Copy of an original carte de visite portrait of Ngāti Hauā rangatira Wiremu Tamihana Tarapīpipi Te Waharoa. Tarapīpipi appears seated from the knee up, facing slightly toward his right. He wears a dark-toned three piece suit, a light-toned shirt with a high collar, and a watch chain. His hair is short and he sports a moustache and sideburns. The photograph is included on page 61 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
