Description
Copy of an original carte de visite portrait of Hohepa Tamamutu. Tamamutu appears standing, from the knee up, facing toward his left. Dressed in chequered shirt and a kaitaka with tāniko border, Tamamutu holds a light-toned patu in his right hand. His hair is styled into a side part and he has a large moustache. The photograph is included on page 54 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
