Copy of an original vignette portrait of Major Mitchell Milty Train. Looking to his right and appearing from the chest up, Mitchell wears military attire, with a sash across his left shoulder. His hair is styled in a side part and he sports a large beard and moustache. The photograph is included on page 51 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
