Copy of an original carte de visite vignette portrait of Lieutenant Colonel Charles Sillery, D.Q.M. General. In the oval-shaped portrait, Sillery appears from the chest up, facing toward his left. Dressed in formal attire, Sillary's thinning hair is styled in comb over, and he sports a large beard and moustache. The photograph is included on page 51 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
