Copy of an original carte de visite portrait of Ngāpuhi leader Tāmati Wāka Nene. In the oval-shaped portrait, Nene appears facing slightly to his left from the chest up. Dressed in formal attire, Nene wears a bow tie and has short, curly hair. The photograph is included on page 50 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
