Description
Copy of an original carte de visite vignette portrait of Lieutenant F. J. Easther of the H.M.S. Avon and H.M.S. Harrier. Facing slightly to his left, Easther appears from the lower chest up, dressed in formal naval attire with shoulder epaulettes and a medal on his left breast. He wears a bow tie, dons large mutton chop sideburns and has his hair slicked back. The photograph is included on page 50 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
