Description
Copy of an original photograph of a Victoria Cross medallion. The medal has a ribbon at the top, which has been hand coloured pink. The triangle-shaped suspension ring is attached to a bottom bar. The medal is cross shaped, and on its obverse decorated with a Lion wearing a crown on top of the Crown symbol, with a U-shaped sash that reads 'FOR VALOUR'. The medal has been hand coloured a light purple and the background hand coloured green. The photograph is included on page 49 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
