"Commodore Goodenough R.N."
Production date
Circa 1900
Description
Copy of an original vignette portrait, identified by Gordon as Commodore Goodenough, possibly Commodore James Graham Goodenough who died at age 44. The man in the photograph appears older and may therefore have been misidentified. The man in the photograph, appearing from the chest up and facing forward, has full mutton chop sideburns. He appears wearing formal attire, with a bow tie and a single button on his jacket. The photograph is included on page 49 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
