Copy of original carte de visite portrait of Ngāti Porou leader Mokena Kohere. The oval-shaped portrait shows Mokena facing forward, from the chest up. He is wearing a casual patterned shirt which is buttoned down. Mokena's hair is short and curly. The photograph is included on page 48 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
