Copy of original studio carte de visite portrait of Captain Wright of the 70th (Surrey) Regiment. Wright sits in a chair, facing to his left, dressed in civilian attire. His hair is parted to the side, he dons a moustache and appears resting his hands on his upper lap. To his left side lies a dog, and in the background hangs floral fabric, seen at the left side of the photograph, appearing blurred along the edge. The photograph is included on page 47 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
