Copy of original group portrait of Non Commission Officers and Privates of the 68th Regiment. From left, Colonel Sergeant Hickson, Private Keogh, Private Bedson, Private Wade, Seargent Murray (V.C.). Taken at Portsmouth most likely after the regiment's return from New Zealand. They all appear wearing military uniform, holding rifles. Hickson is facing forward, looking towards his left. Keogh and Bedson are standing in profile, facing each other. Wade is facing forward, looking towards his left. Murray is standing in profile, facing towards his right. The officers and privates are standing in a grassed area, with a path running behind them. There are trees and a military structure in the background. There is a building partially visible on the right. There is also a person partially visible in the background on the left. The photograph is included on page 45 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
