Ian was the owner of a horse called Aquidity that raced in some of the top races in NZ and Australia. Two Melbourne Cups, Caulfield Cup and very the noteable Queens Cup at Randwick in 1992 which Aquidity won and met her Majesty Queen Elizabeth (II) and the Duke. Trained by Tommy Smith and ridden by Shane Dye. (Aquidity) recorded 17 wins, 26 placings and was not retired until he was 9 years old.
