Description
Silver gelatin print of cars turning from Liardet Street onto Devon Street East during Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's visit to New Plymouth in January 1954. The Queen and Prince Philip are visible in the middle car. A large crowd has gathered to watch the procession and there are also people watching from the windows and roofs of surrounding buildings which include the Government Life Insurance building and the Old Folks' Association. Tram lines can be seen running along Devon Street.
