This Swanndri belonged to Dorene Robinson and was worn by her while out tramping. She did much of her tramping with the Women's Institute Club in New Plymouth. They did lots of tramps around Whangamomona and walked all of the mountains in the North Island. Dorene collected the badges from the different places she went to.

During the 1990s she was part of a group of 17 walkers organised by the New Plymouth YMCA. They walked from Bluff, all the way to Cape Reinga. Walking six days a week, with one day off, it took them 84 days to complete the journey. Dorene wore out four pairs of walking shoes to get there.
