Description
An unframed botanical work of oil on canvas. A single branch of the "Metroslideros - carmenia" The branch is coloured grey with tinges carnation pink mainly along the center of the main branch with the tinges of pink along the edges of the limbs to show depth to the branch overall. At the bottom of the branch there are six singualr leaves spread out on five limbs that are brown with tinges of mustard and carnation pink each with a definate midrib vein. The top section consists of two different greens, dark green with yellow edges either along the side or top and distinctive brown midrib of the leaves to indicate the top of the leaf and then light coloured green leaves with distictive brown coloured midrib to indicate the bottom of leaves. The top section of the branch consists of clusters of flowers that are coloured carnation pink and red with a dot of yellow on the tip of the flowers with a green center with a brown/yellow stamin center.
The background consists of a scribling technique and has multiple colours of black and a murky brown along the bottom of the painting, these colours remain the same along the left hand side of the painting, where as on the right hand side of the painting the colours graduates higher up into a lighter brown and apricot colours eventuating into a light white apricot colouring along the top of the painting. In the background there are also three seperate branches, one located behind the main branch to the left andf two below located both left and right of the main branch. The two bottom branches are coloured in as light pink colour with leaves and flowers, the flowers on the bottom two branches also have tinges of red at the end of the flowers. The top indiviual branch is coloured a light pink with grey tinges.
