Copy photograph of original portrait of General Robert Henry Wynyard, C.B. (1801-1864), 58th (Rutlandshire) Regiment. Wynyard was the Superintendant of the Province of Auckland, Commander of the Troops, & Officer administering the Government of New Zealand 1855. He is shown in three-quarter profile seated on a wooden chair, turned towards his right. He is wearing military uniform and his holding a sword in his left hand. His hat is sitting on a table on his right. The photograph is included on page 43 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
