Description
Cartoon drawing depicting the "Watersiders" cricket team made up of workers from the New Plymouth wharf. The cricket team was big part of wharf life. The cartoon shows four team members all walking away from a heckling crowd visible on the right. Each team member is holding his cricket bat and also carrying a duck (they were all bowled out for a duck, or dismissed without facing the ball, in the 1957-58 competition). The man second from the left has been identified as "Cappy" Euriti and the man third from the left has been identified as Lex Lewis. The man pointing and laughing in the crowd has been identified as possibly being Richard Edwards.
