Copy photograph of original double portrait of Lieutenants Henry Duppa Alfred Cutbill and Edward Charles Colley Foster, 12th Regiment. Cutbill is standing with a walking stick in his right hand and is turned towards his right. Foster is seated in a carved chair with his left elbow on the back of the chair and his hand propping up his head. Both men are wearing military uniform. Foster's 12th Regiment cap is sitting on his right leg. The men appear to be outdoors in front of a thatched structure. The reference to "Matauata" in the title may be Mataatua. The photograph is included on page 42 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
