Copy photograph of original full-length portrait of Lieutenant Cox, 57th (Middlesex) Regiment. Cox is standng with his right arm leaning on a pedestal and looking off to his right. He is wearing a dark-toned suit with a fob watch and is holding a cane in his left hand. He has a moustache and full beard. There is a curtain behind him on his left. The photograph is included on page 41 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
