Copy photograph of original bust portrait of Captain Sewell of the 57th (Middlesex) Regiment. Sewell is wearing a dark-toned jacket with light trim. His hair is parted at the side and he has a very full moustache, beard and sideburns. He is looking towards his right. The portrait has been framed in an oval shape. The photograph is included on page 40 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
