Copy photograph of original bust portrait of Captain C. Clarke of the 57th (Middlesex) Regiment. Clarke is wearing a mid-tone jacket and waistcoat over a shirt and tie. He has a fob chain attached to his waistcoat and a pocket square in his left jacket pocket. He has short hair and a moustache. The portrait has been cut into an oval shape. The photograph is included on page 40 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
