Copy photograph of original full-length portrait of Colonel Henry James Warre of the 57th (Middlesex) Regiment. Warre is shown standing with his left hand on his waist. He is looking off towards his right. Warre is wearing a dark-toned jacket and waistcoat with light-toned trousers and is holding a light-toned top hat in his left hand. He has a moustache and full sideburns. There is a pedestal with a book on top of it on Warre's left. The photograph is included on page 40 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
