Copy photograph of original full length portrait of Lieutenant Thomas Heathcote Tragett of the 57th (Middlesex) Regiment. Tragett was killed at Oakura, May 4 1863. He is standing looking off towards his right. There is a table on his left with his hat sitting on it. Tragett is wearing military uniform and is holding a sword in his right hand. He has a very full beard. The photograph is included on page 39 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
