Copy photograph of original full-length portrait of Dr William Alexander McKinnon of the 57th (Middlesex) Regiment. McKinnon is wearing full traditional Scottish attire including a tartan kilt and cap, and a hat with a tall feather in it. He is standing with his right hand on his hip and his sword in his left hand. The photograph is included on page 39 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
